Happy Friday from Onward Search Land! Have I ever mentioned that I work with a group of real life philosophers here? It’s true! To prove it, I present this week’s Best of Twitter summary – a robust collection of metaphysical musings, worldly reflections and deep (V) thoughts. The tweets below cover Ken’s productivity epiphany, a quote from the great philosopher, Yogi Berra, and most importantly, a declaration from Tim that challenges the existential core of modern popular culture.

I have been doing my own web development and publishing online for basically 5 years now. I am in my late 40 s and would like to pursue a career in seo and internet marketing. I am basically self taught so where should i start?

Hi Joseph, the timing of your question is excellent because we just covered web design and development in our latest episode of Career Cast.

Your skills in web development will support a transition into Internet Marketing and SEO. Start by diving into industry resources like Search Engine Land or the eMarketer Blog. Perhaps you know someone who is well versed in SEO and would be willing to show you some basics in return for some web development help? There are great resources online including lists of people to follow on Twitter, blogs to subscribe to and professional organizations to join… perhaps too many to mention here! :)
